Lightsaber V2
Made another lightsaber with updated electronics for better color/sounds.
Overview
I met another huge Star Wars fan and became close friends with him. I remembered the Lightsaber I made in college and thought he would really like one too. I started to find all of my notes and parts from the original project and found it to be outdated. Some parts weren't even sold anymore. The only option was to improve and upgrade!
Key Upgrades
- Upgraded Electronics Verso V2.0 FX Lightsaber Soundboard
- Easy setting changes Blade color, sound, and pulse intensity.
- Improved Aesthetics Realistic metal finish and worn/used look.
The Raw Hilt
The paint job was not rushed this time so I gave a black base coat to help hide print lines and really give those indents some depth. This also helped with the weathered look for any black that showed through the silver paint.
The Assembly
For the Star Wars fans out there, this was Maul's Lightsaber from The Clone Wars TV show. I made one half look worn and old, while the newer half was shiny and new. It can be wielded as an agile single blade or locked together as a menacing double-sided staff!
Alive & Ignited
The first lightsaber was preset with 3 different 'profiles' that each had their own color, sound, and pulse intensity. I ended up making multiple micro-SD cards with different combinations so my friend could swap between those premade profiles. With this upgraded board, you can now change each individually without having to take apart the lightsaber. You can just turn on setting mode and then use the lightsaber itself like a dial to turn and change whatever setting you want!
